on her apple smart phone-i
with heavy droopy sleepy eye
waiting for me, myself, and I
to syllabify
words to satisfy
and affection signify
love returned testify
my heart certify
waiting to reunify
by my return reply
that I love Boston cream pie
motherhood and apple pie
She is the apple of my eye
and I did clarify
after the hour went by
that a new poem did preoccupy
my ‘I love you too’ her nighttime lullaby
now slumber she can occupy
